The Independent Living Centre therapists run a diverse programme of training including hands-on equipment training, virtual sessions, and workshops. 2026 training dates are now available for booking and can be found on our full training brochure.

Seat Smart: Mastering the Basics of Seating

The aim of the training:
- Learn about the Foundation Principles of Seating
- Explore the impact of poor posture and positioning
- Understand basic seating assessment and measuring
- Discuss considerations for plus-size seating
- Review eligibility of chair provision in Devon
- Explore rise recliner seating options from Accora
- Look at the compatibility of transfer aids with chairs that rise
