Taking Care guidance

Taking care in bed handoutTaking Care Guidance Notes

Our Occupational Therapy team welcomes calls for advice from carers at home who have taken on the caring role for a partner, family member or friend. There has been an increase in these requests recently as more people have taken on this role,  so we have put some general care advice notes together as a reference for Devon carers at home. We know everyone’s circumstances are different but we hope you will find these notes useful and still give us a call to discuss specific equipment and practical care concerns.

You can find these guidance notes on this website, in the Equipment Advice pages, with printable versions there too.

Here are the links to each section:

‘Taking care in bed’

‘Taking care when eating and drinking’

‘Taking care when seated’

Taking Care when managing continence’

We would be interested to hear if you find these useful and if you have comments or suggestions of further areas we should cover in these guidance notes.
